edit-4Lately, my wardrobe has been ruled by monochromes—blacks and greys have been a staple for most of December and while those are classics I will always love, there’s something about the colour red that just attracts.

Everyone, I think, has had an obsession with the colour at some point in their life, but I discovered mine when I started “Insta-saving” a lot of red-dominant looks on repeat (btw, have you guys started using the new Instagram feature? I’ve gone crazy with it).

Of course it is associated with the happiness and warmth of the holiday season, but it is also the colour of passion, of love, of power. It is fitting, therefore, that I start this year with this outfit combination. It is so simple, yet eye-catching, and it probably doesn’t get easier than this when you’re trying to put together a half-decent outfit for work while getting late (umm, I mean ready for work) in the morning.

I’ve paired this red wool pullover from Woodland with black Zara jeggings and black heels that I bought from Sarojini a few years back. This look be can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and accessorised with almost anything. Here, I’ve chosen these tiny silver and green onyx earrings. I wanted to keep it minimal as I was wearing this to office. But you can definitely go for a statement necklace if you’re heading out in the evening. If it’s colder outside, you can layer it with a trench or overcoat and pair it with calf-length boots. The possibilities really are endless.

On that note, make sure to invest in a good red pullover/cardigan/tee. It can make all the difference.

Hope you enjoyed the post.
